Summer Session 2017
Dates: Monday June 19 to Thursday August 3 (No classes the week of July 4th.)
Summer session will include 6 weeks of classes. As a courtesy to our families, Summer Session tuition will be pro-rated, and students are only charged for classes they can attend. We understand summer is a busy time for families and want our dancers to be able to take class when they are home! Please make sure to include the dates your dancer will attend class in the notes section when you register for classes and you will only be charged for those classes! If the notes section is blank, we will assume you are attending all classes in the session.
We are excited to announce we have a new component to our summer schedule! Each week on Tuesday and Wednesday (4:30-6:30) we will hold a unique four-hour intensive workshop. Workshops are open to dancers in Ballet 2 and up. Individual workshop fee is $50. Take 2 workshops this summer and save 15%, take 3 or more workshops and save 20%!
Workshop Titles are:
June 20/21 – Cunningham Based Modern
June 27/28 – Jose Limon Based Modern
July 11/12 – Modern Partnering—Sharing Weight
July 18/19 – Music for Dancers
July 25/26 – Music for Dancers
Aug 1/2 – Body Tuning—Beyond Our Bones
Music for Dancers “Starting with your heartbeat, we will explore internal and external music and how it relates to dance. Each week will cover unique topics.”
Body Tuning—Beyond Our Bones “Through anatomical embodiment explorations, we will expand our body tuning, beyond the skeletal structure, to facilitate more awareness of our personal movement.”
We have also added a Pilates/Conditioning class this summer! This class will meet 4:30-5:15 on Mondays. Pilates/Conditioning is open to anyone! Parents, dancers and non-dancers! Our Monday night Modern class will include the Pilates/Conditioning as part of their class.

*Pointe Program Guidelines: The following classes are included in the program: Pre-Pointe, Beginning Pointe, Pointe 1, Pointe 2 and Partnering. In order for our dancers to have the strength to support the rigors of pointe work, we require that all dancers take a minimum of two ballet technique classes per week in addition to any Pointe Program classes. These guidelines are in place to protect the safety and health of our dancers. Dancers who lack strength run the risk of injury and long-term ill effects on their bones and joints. As always decisions regarding individual pointe readiness and student advancement are based on age, strength & flexibility, student focus and instructor recommendations.
